Holiday Acro

Here is the holiday schedule again for your reference.

If you child will be away please let your coaches know if you have not already done so.

Monday, December 23rd the viewing area is closed.  

Please note that the viewing area will close at 5:00pm for the rest of the holiday weeks.  You can drop off and pick up your acrobat from the sliding glass doors.  If your child needs to leave early please make sure they know and that the coach knows.  If there is an emergency and you need to get our attention please bang on the back door facing Glen Abbey Gate road.  Thanks for your understanding.

Training Canceled Sunday, December 22nd

Due to the Freezing Rain Warnings we have decided to cancel Acrobatic Gymnastics Training for Sunday, December 22nd.

We will begin our holiday training schedule on Monday, December 23rd.

Stay home.

Jean-Claude Van Damme does the most epic splank of all times! Don't try this at home or at least not with moving vehicles.

So you've heard of "planking": performing a facedown, lying flat position in strange places well now it's time to start "splanking".  "Splits-planking"  or "Splanking" is doing the splits in random public places .  Everyone is getting into it.  Please take the month of December to send your best "splanking" photos to Don to be posted here on the blog and on facebook.  There will be prizes for the most creative and coolest "splanking" photos.

Side bar: This is to promote flexibility in our Acrobats.  If you can already do the splits then just have fun with this assignment.  For those of you who can't just do your splits everywhere.  You have an excuse!

December Acro Schedule

Here is the December acrobatic gymnastics training schedule.  

Please note these following special dates:

Decmeber 7th and 8th 1st Ontario Cup for Acrobatic Gymnastics

Monday, December 9th No Training

December 13th to 17th: Don will be away.  His group will have supply coaches and still be training.

December 23rd: Serg's last day

December 23rd to January 3rd special Holiday training schdule.  Please know that the viewing area will be closed on some days of the training schedule and if it is open, it will close at 4:00pm.  All acrobats will entre by the sliding glass doors at the front of the club and be returned to you there as well.  If your athlete needs to leave early please let them and the coach know in advance.  If you need to get a hold of the coaches while they are in the gym please bang on the back door (not the service entrance) to get their attention.

Snow Days:  If there is a training cancellation due to inclement weather it will be posted here on the blog.  There will not be make up classes for Snow Days.

Serg Leaving

We are sad to announce that Serg will be leaving the OGC Coaching staff as of December 2013.  Serg will be moving to Australia to live with his new wife and he wishes all of the athletes and families the very best.  

Thank you to Serg for working with our OGC Acrobatic Gymnastics team for the past months.  We will miss him greatly and hope that he will return at some point in the near future.

The Provincial 2 group coaching responsibilities will be taken over by David.  A slightly altered schedule will begin in January.  We are currently working out the details and will post the altered schedule here on the blog and email it out to the affected families.  We apologize in advance for the changes but we will have to make do.  We appreciate your cooperation and understanding with regards to the upcoming changes to the OGC acro program.

OGC Christmas Banquet Nov 21

The Oakville Gymnastics Club will be hosting its annual Christmas Banquet tonight, 

Thursday, November 21st.  

There will be NO TRAINING of any of the competitive disciplines after 4:00pm today.  

For those who purchased tickets and will be attending, the banquet will be held at the

Please note the two important dates:

Saturday, November 23rd is a our routine preparation night for all OGC acrobats.  This is an extra training (at no cost to you) for the acrobats to prepare for the 1st Ontario Cup that is coming up on December 7th & 8th.  

If you have a good reason to not be there please let your coaches know so that they can inform the others in your child's partnership. Thanks.
